The Lak Lake Historical, Cultural and Environmental Forest Management Board was established under Decision No. 432/QĐ-UB dated May 17, 1995, issued by the People's Committee of Dak Lak Province.

The Lak Lake Scenic Forest is located across the communes of Dak Lieng, Dak Phoi, and Lien Son (Lak District), approximately 50 kilometers southeast of Buon Ma Thuot city center.

Currently, the forest area under management covers 10,333.55 hectares, including:

• Forest-covered area: 7,867.26 hectares

• Non-forested area: 2,458.73 hectares.
